I like reading all kind of books since I was a child. Starting from childhood stories, small books to magazines or papers; anything. For me, reading was naturally converted into a habit, as I grew up surrounded by all kind of books and people who loved this activity.

As programmers, reading is still part of our skill-set. We have all sorts of documentations, tutorials and practical examples and a huge resource of technical books. However, today’s book recommendation has nothing to do with programming, but might help a lot!

So, if you’re tired of all technical books, a good book if you’re a programmer would be ‘The Design of Everyday Things‘ by Don Norman.

A useful book for every programmer

Yes, I know, it doesn’t contains lines of code and have nothing to do with programming world at a first glance – but the information gathered by Don Norman is so adaptive to a programmer workflow and offers so much enlightenment about how the final product should be designed and shipped correctly so you won’t confuse your user. It’s a must read if you’re a programmer, and trust me, it will help you become even a better one.

I hate spoilers (of all kind), so I won’t get into deep details of this book. And I hope you’ll take my word for it and grab your personal copy. I highly doubt that you won’t find it useful.

Enjoy reading, it will definitely boost your big picture of how to program things as a whole.
